How long have you been photographing weddings?

Shawnee has been photographing weddings for almost 15 years, and running this business full-time since 2016. Julie has been photographing weddings with Shawnee for the past decade, and was brought on as a full-time associate photographer in early 2019.


Do you have insurance?

Sure do! Just let us know if your venue needs our information.


Who will be photographing our event or session?

We will discuss what works best for you pricing wise and who is available to photograph your wedding or engagement. You can also request a specific photographer to work with. Whoever you choose will be the one to photograph your event. If you need a second photographer (for larger weddings or events with multiple locations occurring simultaneously) someone else from our team or another talented photographer will be there to work beside us.


How do you edit the photos, and how many do we receive?

No matter who photographs your wedding from our team, all photos are curated and edited by Shawnee. You will receive the best of the best (don’t worry we won’t give you 10 photos that are carbon copies of each other) and we also take out any photos with closed eyes or people mid-chew during dinner. If you’re a constant blinker during photos, fret not, we’ve got you covered. You should expect around 75 photos per hour of coverage.


Do we get the digital files from our portrait session or event?

Yes! You will always receive the edited high-resolution images in an online downloadable gallery, with printing rights included. You can order prints through us (they won't break the bank) and they will be printed at a professional lab on archival paper and last a lifetime. Or you can take them down to the local market and print them off there, whichever you prefer!


How long until we get our pictures back?

Our goal is to have your wedding photos back to you in six weeks. Sometimes our shooting schedule becomes a little hectic during wedding season, but we will always have your pictures and online gallery ready in no more than twelve weeks from your celebration


Can you make me thinner / taller / airbrush off all my features?

Short answer, no. We think you are beautiful just the way you are, and focus our work on body positivity and genuine moments. Aside from removing any surprise blemishes (zits, bruises, or injuries), we don't "retouch" any of our images. Our photos are not overly sharpened, and we make sure to photograph folks in a way that let’s them feel empowered and beautiful without the need for photoshop.


We really want to work with you, but live so far away! How do we make that happen?

Living far away is no problem! We love to travel, and will go wherever you are or want to have your celebration. Travel in the USA is included in most of our packages for this exact reason. 


Can we meet before booking with you?

Absolutely! We always want to meet our clients so we can chat and get to know each other before working together. We usually do this over Zoom, but are happy to do a phone call or FaceTime if that is easier. Whatever works best for you is great for us!


We're ready to book! What's the process?

Yay! In order to reserve your date, we require a $1,000 retainer fee (that is applied to your total balance due) and a signed contract. Both of these will be taken care of through an online booking proposal. You can pay by card, PayPal or check. The remaining balance on your package is due 30 days before the event.
