Justin + Jacob: Portland, Maine Peaks Island Wedding
There are a million wonderful things I want to say about Justin & Jacob, their warm and welcoming friends and families, and the heartfelt and gorgeous wedding weekend they planned out perfectly. I'm going to attempt to collect my thoughts here, but know that it will never be enough to express the gratitude and pure joy I experienced getting to photograph J&J's wedding.
Justin is an incredibly talented wedding photographer that I had the pleasure of meeting through Catalyst Wed Co. a few years back, and have been lucky enough to call him and Jacob friends since. Getting hired by a fellow wedding photographer is the biggest honor. (Let's be real, we are by far the pickiest when it comes to having photos taken of us since it's what we do all day everyday for others!)
We started off the wedding weekend with a sunrise session at the Portland Head Lighthouse. There were so many epic locations that Justin and Jacob wanted to use for their photos, and just not enough time to fit it all into the wedding day. I'm SO happy we woke up at 3:30 in the morning to trek down the the beach for this perfect sunrise:
The next day was the wedding! Justin and Jacob got ready together with their wedding party at a quaint Airbnb. We then headed to downtown Portland for some photos and took the ferry to Peaks Island where the ceremony and reception would take place!
Next was the ceremony, and hooboy, there wasn't a dry eye anywhere. I somehow managed to shoot and wipe away tears at the same time, but my eye makeup was no match for amount of love and joy in the air. J&J's ceremony was so heartfelt and perfect, and everyone there was just so happy to celebrate these two wonderful souls.
Now comes the best part: CAKE! DANCING! SPEECHES! MORE HAPPY TEARS!
Justin & Jacob, thank you for including me in your wedding weekend. It was absolutely perfect.
A special thanks to Diana Ascarrunz for being the best second photographer I could ever hope for, and an all around amazing human.
